I just had gigabit fiber installed and wanted something better than some cheap Cat 5 cable I had lying around to connect my computer to the router. This one was rated highly and looked sturdy.When the tech finished the install I connected my desktop to the router with a Cat 5 cable and did a speed test using dslreports speed test. I was getting 938 megabits down and 946 upload speed. I ran the test three more times and got nearly the same result only changing by 1Mb on each.I then plugged this cable in and got 10 Gigbit download speeds!.just kidding, my speeds improved about 10Mb on both up and download speeds. Not a whole lot on a gigabit connection but the DSL I was paying for before I got fiber was 18Mb and I was getting 12-15Mb on average, so the 10Mb improvement this cable gives me is nearly as much as my old DSL was.
