Perfect fit for the Mavic Mini

I needed a hard case for my DJI Mavic Mini that could hold all the extras you need to use the drone. I also wanted to be able to carry a 10.2-inch iPad and all the charging accessories that go with it. Most of the pre-cut foam cases weren't much larger than the original molded cases, but the pair had room for a tablet holder. However, they were still too small to fit inside the tablet itself. So I gave up and ordered this build case that had the right internal dimensions for the tablet. The construction foam was in two layers so I was able to shape the bottom layer to fit around gimbal covers (you can see in the 2nd photo). The remaining 3 full depth pockets contain a tablet holder, controller and charger. I even have room for extra batteries if I buy some. I put a piece of dollar store tape on the lid to protect the front of the iPad and used clear craft glue to glue the styrofoam layers together because they got a little wavy. Charger, tablet holder, controller strap, 2 USB chargers, 2 USB cables, tablet control cable, spare propellers and a 10.2 inch iPad. If you open the case, the iPad lies neatly on it, so it's not really at risk, even if it's not secured. The case itself is a simple, solid Pelican clone. I don't know if it's really waterproof, but that doesn't bother me. One layer of styrofoam was cut very well, and the other was cut less cleanly, so I had to saw through part of it with an X-Acto knife. It had the standard "Outdoor!" sticker on it, the clasps were tight but impossible to open, and overall it was just what I needed. I can even use an enclosed pen as a launch pad.

Pros
  • UV and shockproof material
Cons
  • It's ok
