I wanted this for crafts, hair ties etc. I have light weight pliers that won't close so I cut a piece of this elastic and after using it about 10 times used when he picked up the pliers and removed it, it wore out and then broke. It was careful use. This wasn't the first time I've used it to close something I'll reopen to a moderate extent. He wore and broke on these things too. I decided that after the third time I should write a review. If you bought this for hair bands or face masks you will be disappointed. I've used it on three face masks that I've made with fisherman's knots and had to change the elastic before even using the masks. After finishing and working with rubber knots for sizing, the rubber band was already worn out. I knew what was coming next, so I replaced it. I hope this helps you decide. The thickness is as marked so I had to give 5 stars but even just stretching the piece you can see that the black outer layer doesn't want to fully return to its original size.
