Review on Knit Picks Yarn Ball Winder Crafting by Kelsey Brown

Can't believe I didn't get something like this sooner. What has changed in the game! I'm in love. I roll my hands into balls that roll around when I knit/crochet. I took all these hand twisted skeins or strands that had come loose and twisted them all. Haven't tried it on a new ball of yarn yet but I'm sure it will be great. It seemed to me that there wasn't enough tension with just a metal lever, so I held onto the yarn as I unwound it and it was the perfect tension. To update! a crack here and there. I think, but can't say for sure, that the teeth in the gears might have snapped. Not all, but now when I try to wind yarn with this winder suddenly transmission is missing and yarn gets tangled at bottom or top. This happens more often with softer yarns, but also with coarser yarns. I opted for a larger and stronger swift. I like it better so far. However, I'd say it's still pretty decent if you don't wind up a lot of yarn. But I did knit quite a bit and wrapped yarn around my entire knitting group. That was too much for this winder. I would recommend going for a stronger and more expensive one, but only if you're wrapping a lot of yarn. Although I like it better.
