I only received the backpack yesterday so I couldn't use it but it looks solid, well made, probably waterproof, looks professional (not for camping) and works exactly as it should be. Pad your laptop securely. So why the low rating? I was looking for a laptop backpack under $30 that was the closest to the dimensions of my regular free airline personal item (16 x 15 x 7 inches). In this promotional photo of the backpack, it was shown as 17 x 13.5 x 7 inches, but it's actually smaller: 16" x 11.3" x 5" seam to seam. True, it can be packed and stretched , say in width but this will reduce its thickness I'll probably go back and look for another one.
