Almost, but not quite

Experienced user (8+ hours a day for work/study/play). big hands. Like NBA hands without NBA content. Like many of you, I sing the loss of our thumb trackballs daily. The first Trackman Marble, the first editions of the MSFT Optical Trackball and so on. When I see a brand like Sanwa launching a trackball, I buy it immediately if it fits. Usually not, but if so, then only in a limited edition. The fight is real and this Perixx is a clear newcomer. This trackball is larger than the tiny size that Logitech is so passionate about promoting, but not as big as the "original" models I've talked about before. It's bigger, though, and I won't sacrifice a USB port for WiFi, which I've never needed. Worth a try. This is a nice little trackball. I've been using it for almost a month and they got almost everything right. For my needs the only thing they got wrong was the killer. After a day of use, no matter how often I clean this thing (several times a day), there are changes in the bearings that hold the ball in place, making accurate mouse placement almost impossible. Selecting and highlighting specific lines of text or features on the screen is a huge hassle that quickly turns to frustration. I've been using this for almost a month and have already ordered my 'next' potential trackball because, for all its attempts, this thing bridges the gap between those small-handed scoundrels who have ruined our market and those of us who were born to bridge Typically, cursor control cannot be provided precisely enough to be usable for simple use despite the power consumption. (Did I mention I do this all day? I write code, documents, and design interfaces. I NEED ACCURACY.) If you use this for gaming, you'll probably enjoy it for a week or so. The loss of precision took so long to really make itself felt, although it was noticeable after day one. However, if this Perixx brand is serious about it, they deserve a shot by releasing another iteration of this. In terms of hand size, it's the best in town, thanks to Logitech and MSFT ditching us big-handed folks almost a decade ago. I will try this brand again next year. However, if you have big hands and are struggling with the same concerns I raised here, I recommend waiting a year before trying Perixx. They have some problems to solve that are very, very painful to consume.
