The fastening design seems good, it holds well and firmly on the magsafe charge. I was able to reduce the tension on the ball just enough to keep it from wobbling; It still rotates but doesn't slowly lower under the weight of the phone while driving. It also has a much lower profile than my old wireless mount and slightly lower than similar mounts with magnets; I like that it doesn't stick out that much. Much better than the vent mounts which are a joke and will fall or droop under the weight of the phone. I've been waiting for this mount since I got my phone 12. I've seen some people use the magnet mount to hold Magsafe in place, but if you're into charging it's obvious that extra magnets are getting in the way of charging, so over time the battery charge will either drop or rise very, very slowly. So this mount is definitely better. Best of all, the bead used for the connection is around 17mm, which seems to be the standard for phone mounts. I didn't see it in the original description so thought I'd mention it. So I didn't even use the base, I took my old non-magsafe mount out of the car, snapped the head of this mount up and tightened it. The standard size means it's interchangeable and likely to work with most bases that already have a 15mm ball installed. It works so well I bought a second one for my desk. The price is currently $15, which I think is a bit high for this type of mount. I expect it will go down as more products come out, but for now it's the only one available.
