thin very thin and full of fabric on the install side
true other reviews are correct you can see right through this filter and all the fabric on the side that runs next to the fan (local stores on both metal to keep it from being sucked into the fan). I can't imagine this filtering odors, it's just the carbon impregnated foam you can see. The one I have at the hardware store is layered, the charcoal looks thicker and actually absorbs odors. I go back and buy the best local varieties, they cost a few bucks more, that's all.
