Bought about 1 month ago, paid a little under $35, I've been using it ever since, it works fine. There are "fans" in the block and thank god for that because this unit is heated. Of course, it won't burn your hand, but holding it in your hand, it's easy to tell that the pup is on and running. This unit was purchased to replace/upgrade an old USB to VGA adapter which is utter rubbish compared to this premium product. This device is an amazing upgrade and I would happily buy this better adapter for a long time. I have two (2) identical HP monitors installed on my PC. One monitor connects through this adapter, and the other monitor connects directly to the HDMI port (ie, does not go through the adapter). Not that it's strong, but there is a 2 second delay difference between turning on two monitors, meaning the one connected directly via HDMI turns on immediately. While a monitor connected via an adapter and HDMI cable experiences a 2 second delay and then turns on. (Again, not a big deal as the computer just connects and renews.) The reason for the four (4) stars is that (a) it gets very hot and (b) the little blue LED is lit. on the front of the device and it would be nice to have an option/switch to turn this little guy off, but there's nothing a small piece of black tape can't fix in under 30 seconds. As the name suggests, this adapter delivers a beautiful, clear and wonderful picture! (Of course, this assumes the adapter is connected to decent monitors.) All in all, if you're looking to switch from USB to a high-quality HDMI adapter connection, then this is your product; I can recommend without hesitation!
