The regular product didn't trim the hair but softened it a bit. About me: I have a moderate amount of facial hair due to PCOS. I have hormonal issues but acne is rare. I make breakthroughs with coconut oil and cocoa butter. I have AA dark skin with combination sensitive skin (oily T-zone); I use this product on the "dry" part of my face that is often flaky. Pros: I have found that I can go 2-3 days without hair removal (as opposed to daily) because it seems to grow slower and "softer". "When I remove the hair, it's the same length as usual, but the strands look a little thinner. This product allows me to wear longer without removing hair because I'm not so itchy. Cons: I took off 3 stars because it technically did the job of slowing down growth/softening the hair a bit, but I thought it would reduce the amount of hair and it doesn't. I have noticed that I am getting ingrown hairs (causing more PVG scarring on my face) and multiple large painful pimples on my face. but they came back with a vengeance once I started using this product again. I tried an acne cream with this product to see if it would help stop the big bumps but it doesn't seem to be working. I just have to consider it a waste of money for myself, but maybe I'll give it away to a friend whose skin isn't that sensitive.
