I foolishly bought a dustpan at a dollar store and quickly realized why I was seeing dustpans at the store for so much more money. I've been scouring the internet for a dustpan that I hope will sift through the trash without fear of breaking the handle or throwing a shovel of dirty trash in my face when stuck in a pile of you-know-what. This shovel was the cheapest. I saw that it was metal (I didn't want to risk buying a plastic shovel online). I thought it might be worth a try. When it arrived I was very excited to try it. It is very strong and will not bend like a cheap dollar store shovel. It works well and removes clumps of urine stuck to the floor with even minimal effort. Sometimes tiny clumps of feces get stuck in the holes, but that's better than poking in with the jagged edges of another spatula and ending up with little clumps of feces stuck to the tips. I only use one pack to squeeze them out. I recommend everyone to ditch the plastic scoops and go for a metal scoop like this one.
