I see 3 front connectors for USB and connectors for phones (including old ones). The top has slots for electrical connections, expanding your rig to accommodate more of it. It works well and should run very quickly. I can confirm it's fast. This is a well-made and extremely durable device that seems to last quite a while. This is a medium sized cable so I would have been happy with a slightly longer length. My computer is high. I'm not sure if I can connect it to this machine. Better not. So one more reason to connect an extension cord. If I had to buy another one I would choose it again. Regardless of whether this cable is long or short, the device can be connected without surge protection. I think some of these are subjective and some relate to safety when choosing to use. I would plug directly into the outlet as the information is in the description on the product page. Traveling is a great time to use something like this. I often find very few outlets to plug in all my devices, so I have to extend an outlet. And versatility is what I needed, which is why I ordered it. Hope that helps. Enjoy!
