Hello, this is my very first product review and I'm posting it because I hope it will help other people decide whether or not to fly with a dog which bag to buy. In early August I started planning my international trip from New York to Prague. I think I read every possible review to decide which carrier would be best for my 18 lb Cavapoo. It"light", but it's long :). Head to tail is definitely 18 inches and the height is around 12 inches I think. So I went through all sorts of airline reviews and policies to decide which was the best option for me and him. Not as easy as I thought, but thanks to a review from someone who has flown their Cocker Spaniel (Rating: English Cocker Spaniel fits), I decided to order the X LARGE Sturdi bag. My dog undoubtedly fits perfectly in the bag. The first bag I ordered was light blue. Then I changed it to black because I noticed that light blue makes it visually bigger, and as crazy as it may sound I figured it would be best not to draw too much attention to myself ;). When I called Delta Airlines they said the bag was too big. That was when I first wanted to book it for a flight. I had to defend myself and explain that this bag is very flexible and people fly with it. I have received many explanations from a Delta Customer Service Representative that this is still too much for the A330-300. I asked the manager. I was told they would add it but I must inform you that it may be refused at the airport. I got a call back the next day and was told to call them back to confirm the dimensions of the bag. I called back, this time I had someone else and I explained to him again that the bag is flexible and can go behind the seat. I was very nervous that I would have to defend myself again. This time, however, his response was "no problem," you're done. I asked him, did your colleague tell me that I could be denied the flight because the bag is too big? His answer was comforting and reassuring. He told me "no way", your bag is flexible. I thought I'd go party now. I tested the bag, it is very flexible. The front is more flexible than the back. What I did was remove the "wire" from the back pocket to make it even more flexible. When I arrived at the airport my dog was in XL-LARGE, I bought a large one and took it with me just in case. He fits both, but he was more comfortable in XLARGE. We arrived at the airport, checked the bag, attached the tag and we were ready to take off :) From that moment on, all the TSA agents were happy to see my dog, everyone wished us (or him more) a safe flight. . It was a long 8 hour flight but we arrived in Prague without a single problem. My dog tried to sleep the whole flight, I didn't move away from him. We landed and I ran out of the airport :))) what a relief! But that's how I was able to travel with him, and now I know. So I can definitely recommend this bag if you have a "big" dog. I hope my review helps someone! Good luck everyone!
