I have a lifelong problem with anemia and MTHFR so I take Iron, B12 and C daily. I've been using Maxi FE for years and couldn't figure out why I was so tired all the time was despite the fact that my blood tests showed that the iron levels are normal. This spring I happened to read an article by Johns Hopkins on anemia. It turns out there are 2 types of iron: Iron from plants provides non-heme iron that is only 5% bioavailable, while heme iron from animal sources provides iron that is 25% bioavailable. The switch to heme iron was HUGE.
