You need a power adapter to make it work

I just received this today. Open the package and find that you need to purchase a power adapter separately to install and use it. I assume because they don't want to use the big box? I do not know. But now I need to find one of them before I can hook it up and see if it does anything. So remember that you need a power adapter when you buy it.
