Review on πŸ”ͺ Anti-Slip Waterstone Sharpener - Premium Sharpening Whetstone for Optimal Results by Justin Herman

Good sharpening stone, good base, good price.

This item is a synthetic sharpening stone, one side is 1000 grit and the other side is 6000 grit. The stone is a good weight without being too heavy (actually less than most more expensive ones stones), but still large enough to safely sharpen knives. The stone comes with a pressed bamboo strip base which is very nice with a thin rubber base which is mediocre at best. Included with the stone is a rubber washer that is meant to hold the stone in place in the base, which I recommend you do. The kit also includes a stone for cleaning the surface. I've used this product to sharpen some of the knives I bought from discount stores or Ikea that didn't have a good blade. As the set does not include a smaller grit stone (must be purchased separately) it took me a while to get the edge I wanted, but still I was able to get good results using only the 1000 grit side. The knives were good sharpened when we bought them, I'd like to think it would have taken a lot less time to re-sharpen with this product. The 6000 grit side gets dirty very quickly when deburring the edge, but that's what the surface cleaning stone is for. I want to say that I got good value for money. I am happy with the product and recommend it for the occasional re-sharpening, but to sharpen really dull knives buy a 400 or 600 grit stone to go with this product.
