Review on 🪑 Blue Upholstered Home Office Desk Chair from OFM - ESS Collection by Ginny Fidler

I bought this for my husband to use in the office as his old leather office chair was badly worn - as they all seem to be in a year or two. I chose an upholstered office chair to see if it would be more durable. This chair was easy to put together but I had to work hard to fit the wheels. I ended up having to tap the ends of the spindles they attach to from above with a rubber mallet to get the shaft of each pulley going in. In the end, the hard plastic material didn't look like it would be very forgiving on my hardwood floors, so I replaced them with roller skate-style rubber wheels (a blue to match!), which I also found from Revain. This, of course, added about $35 to the cost of the chair. But now he's even cuter, if that matters to you. Looks aren't everything though, and I'm confused as to why this chair is being described as ergonomic - it's the most uncomfortable office chair I've ever sat in. very low, creating a pressure point under my thighs. My back started hurting within minutes. There is almost no padding on the seat and back. I put a memory foam pillow on top of the seat which helped but it certainly doesn't fit and the front of the pillow protrudes beyond the front of the seat because as I said the seat isn't deep enough for the average person. Adult (so forget about adding lumbar support). Also, I noticed that the seat doesn't move up and down very much, only 2-3 inches of play in the height adjustment. I'm 5ft 6" and it was fine for me, but probably won't fit many people. I also couldn't turn the handle on the seat, which should make the chair recline. On the plus side, there were no Prop 65 warnings about toxic materials. I also think the armrests are a good height and have enough padding to support the forearms while typing. UPDATE: My husband was happy with the chair so we're fine. He's a few inches shorter than me, that might help. He doesn't fall asleep in it like he used to in his old chair so that's a big plus for me anyway haha. Most surprisingly, our cats are much more interested in sleeping in it than using it as a scratching post, so after a few months the chair looks almost new. For these reasons I have raised my rating to three stars. But if I bought this chair for myself, it would still come back. Be careful if you have chronic back pain. I wouldn't recommend this chair to anyone over 5ft 7in either, and that's even a stretch. I think this is the perfect office chair for a teenage bedroom. Hope that helps!
