This was my first time doing anything SFX related and this wax is definitely good for beginners with a little trial and error and practice. I would suggest putting some petroleum jelly on the wax and your instrument after you apply it where you would like it to be much easier to manipulate. Once applied it was very easy to apply my foundation to match the skin to the wax and I used a thin brush to fill in the gap in the wound with red cream paint and fake blood. I also used rust colored eyeshadow to mimic irritation in the wound. Wax was easily removed with alcohol and micellar water. Overall I would definitely recommend this scar wax for beginners and bargain seekers!
