Universal Photo/Video/Zoom Light

This is a highly versatile and durable video light that will enhance all your photographic endeavors. The light has 4 modes: CCT (Color Temperature) which emits "white" light where you can adjust the temperature and intensity, HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness/Lightness) which gives you full control over the HSL/HSV/ HSB color model, RGBW (Red, Green, Blue, White and Yellow) which provides another way to access full control over the color wheel and SCENE which looks like a predefined set of changing color patterns with labels like Rainbow, Stripe and Fireworks looks. To tell the truth I haven't seen where any of the scenes would be useful to me and some of them seem to give me a slight headache, but YMMV and you can find one (like Surf) that is perfect for your project or applications . The operation of the light is self-explanatory, but there are above-average instructions that are helpful for a quick start. There is also a smartphone app (I only tested the iOS version) that worked for me on my iPhone right out of the box and made temperature, color and brightness settings much easier. (Just a reminder: light is the opposite of color, so 0% saturation is always white and 100% pure color.) I used light to take some still life photos (flowers and fruit) and was pleased that the extra lighting increased resulted in less grainy photos with more natural colors than just using my iPhone as is. And thanks to its size, shape and weight, the lantern was easy to hold and also stayed on a flat surface. The kit comes with a few extra pieces, including a silicone light diffuser that's a little tricky to attach, a mini tripod that's great as a little handle (keep dirty fingers away from the light source by casting shadows!), a Tripod extension/phone holder which is not shown or described but appears (from the video) to be a one piece video studio, a small adapter for use with an extension cord and a USB-C charging cable (yes!) Would have liked something with a soft carrying case too, but that's a bit of a nitpick. (Turns out there is! It's hidden under a plastic shell!) The instructions also say it's possible to update the flashlight's software/firmware, but at least as of the time I'm writing this review , Accessing the Weeylite website (here , in the States) seems slow and buggy. But then again it doesn't really matter as the light seems to work perfectly. didn't have it before.
