Nice blanket but not warm enough

My trusty electric blanket finally broke so I bought this heating pad to sleep in. The temperature in my bedroom often drops to 63 degrees at night, and my old blanket kept me perfectly warm at a temperature set halfway up its dial. not warm enough. This is a very good blanket, but it's not enough. The instructions state that no part of the blanket can be tucked in, while my old blanket was able to tuck in the edges. The sleeping pad has a special "warm setting" that quickly heats the blanket to a temperature of one setting. higher than you want. This is useful for warming up the duvet just before bed, but if you wake up in the middle of the night with a cold, this particular setting is useless as it will overheat the duvet for an hour before turning its thermostat down to the desired setting. I installed it. Why an hour? Who knows. So I had to throw out that brand new expensive duvet because even at max temperature it just doesn't provide enough heat to keep me warm in a 63 or 64 degree room. Well, if your room isn't that cold, you can try, but I've found that even at 67 degrees, I have to crank the temp up a lot.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
