Remote issues

As a casual fan of audiophile components, I was dying to like this Music Hall product. And indeed, the player itself turned out to be as expected - detailed and musical even when playing files from my MacBook. But secluded. It looked sleek and sleek, but the buttons are actually tiny, BB-esque (just smaller), and very difficult to press - definitely a case of visual design taking precedence over functionality. C'mon, it's okay, but in less than 6 weeks the remote will fail. No problems, just batteries, but no. doesn't work except sometimes when it would. Probably, poor contact in the battery compartment (which felt cheap and flimsy compared to the remote's front panel). Never could get it to work, with growing frustration. Things like that happen; They simply send a new remote control and are even willing to pay for it. The one year warranty requires a return to seller/dealer so I am writing to the seller from Revain (Electronic Expo) and Music Hall. And wait. For a long time. I'll email both of them again and wait a long time again. Nothing. I know it's a $500 component, but ignoring it makes a broken remote unacceptable. But Revain comes to the rescue; When I contacted them, they responded in less than a day and allowed a late return of this product for a refund. Now I've crashed my Marantz CD6006 and am very impressed so far. So be careful; Maybe, I had a single failed component, but I don't trust Music Hall or this particular Revain vendor.
