First a positive point: in a small case it weighs a lot. Suitable for punching and chamfering/background processing. Little positive: I've only had the hammer for 2.5 months and have only used it a few times during this time. The handle dangles a little on the spindle, is a little off-center, and shifts a little when you use it for tools. When I punched some holes the other day, nothing I wouldn't ask of any other sledgehammer and the chips flew away! On closer inspection, I noticed that there was a smaller chip (see photo). It has not been abused or used beyond the characteristics of other clubs. It just wasn't good for punching holes. If you're looking for a hammer to craft general tools, this is good enough. If you want him to punch and rivet/burr, you might want to try a different sledgehammer/hammer that can hit better.
