The first order we ordered was dead on arrival. The company were very good at the job and got us a replacement straight away sent. This thing might not have the best build quality, but it works great. Our pup used to live on a chain but is now free to roam our entire 50 acre farm. We just turn it on in the middle of our field every morning to get center position, then adjust the perimeter size so it skips our neighbor and the freeway. Battery life is around 9 hours as it is a GPS device that is always searching for satellites. This warns the dog before it begins administering the shock. Also, GPS is only accurate to about 15 feet, so your exact perimeter will vary somewhat throughout the day, which isn't a problem in our large area. Our dog quickly learned not to stray too far from home. The only downside we noticed is that you might not want a building next to the perimeter as it adds error to the GPS signal. This is normal when the building is within the perimeter. Even if the signal is lost, the dog will not be shocked, allowing our dog to enter our house and tin roof shed.
