The scale is small enough to hide away when not in use, but it DEFINITELY holds 10+ pounds. It has a good screen that can be read from any angle and can be set to metric or US weight. Comes with batteries and is easy to store thanks to the hanging slot on the back for hanging on a nail or screw. I have measured several items and the weights have always been accurate. This is the one you should buy. Inexpensive but not cheap. AAA+++
