First of all I love Biokleen products. However, I understand that if you're looking for products that are rated as Highly Safe by the EWG, you can't use emotion in your purchasing decision. Company A may have a high EWG rating for their dishwashing detergent, but their laundry detergent has an F rating. However, Biokleen has several products that perform well in the EWG. As a hand dishwashing detergent (not machine washable), this product gets an A rating. It really lives up to its promise of not drying out your hands when washing dishes. I have found that using HOT water and filling the sink to soak the dishes is most effective. All natural detergents, with the exception of the seventh generation C-rated free and clear detergents, are not as good when it comes to removing grease. However, hot water and a washcloth usually solves this minor problem. If it's a big job I have a bottle of seventh generation dish soap, free and clear, to remove bacon grease or dirt at a big dinner party. It is important to note that I am on a mission to reduce my family's exposure to chemicals as a whole. The more I can remove the better, but I understand that total removal is not possible or impossible in the world we live in. As you wash your dishes in the sink every day, take a moment to reflect on the importance of your soap choices. containing as little chemicals as possible. I myself do not use rubber gloves during the day and wash dishes. The bonus is that this soap can very well replace hand soap in the bathroom. It doesn't foam as much as dawn, but like toothpaste, more bubbles doesn't mean more cleaning. Overall I am very happy with this soap and plan to keep it as a replacement for commercial chemical soaps. Biokleen also makes a fantastic laundry detergent which is rated A in the EWG.
