Review on Joovy Playard Nursery Center Charcoal by Amy Thompson

The size makes it impossible to find sheets and other bedding!

Do yourself a favor and buy a different brand playground. Buy a branded pack and play the standard size in the industry. I've searched the internet for bedding and it's impossible! I wish I had never bought this playground. The mattress size is 28 x 40 inches, which is larger than most playgrounds. That's the problem. On the one hand you think it's great because it's bigger, but. Impossible to find suitable sheets and mattress pads! They are all too small. Most bedding sizes are playground size - that's the standard size in the industry - brand G. I learned this the hard way - so I searched the internet for the right sheets. I had to settle for ill-fitting sheets and oversized mattress pads. Forget buying a good 3 inch (vinyl covered) base mattress when your baby outgrows the bassinet! It doesn't exist in this size. So when your baby sleeps in the reclined position, they are sleeping on a rock hard bed. Pros: The changing table is easy to remove and can hang over the edge of the play area. Practical storage bags. According to Jovie, the changing area can accommodate a 25-pound baby. The sleeping area is larger than most playgrounds. Very durable appearance. Very easy to open and close. They have cute kids in their videos. Cons: I had to call Joovy because the first thing I got was that the edges of the bassinet didn't quite match the top edges where there are velcro straps on the corners. It was shorter by about 6 inches and there was a gap that wasn't safe for a child. Customer service was great and sent me a replacement directly instead of going through Amazon. Cons: I was planning to buy a 3 inch waterproof mattress to put in the down position when the baby outgrows the cradle. Because the size of the mattress is larger than other popular branded play areas, it's impossible to find a ready-made 3-inch mattress that will fit on the lower bunk once baby outgrows the raised bassinet. If I had bought another well-known brand's playground, I wouldn't have had this problem. When I ask Joovy where I can find a mattress to replace her hard pillow, they tell me they can't help me for safety reasons. Most of my friends bought 3 inch mattresses when the kids were older because the mattresses that come with the playgrounds are rock hard. There are no ready made 3 inch mattresses for a playground this size.
