I recently purchased a Columbia Girls PFG Reel Adventure short sleeve t-shirt for my daughter to wear during our family beach vacation. Advertised as sun protection, I was happy to find a cute and functional shirt that she could wear for long hours in the sun. However, the actual product left a lot to be desired. On the plus side, the shirt itself is cute and fits true to size. The fabric is light and breathable, making it perfect for hot summer days. The sunscreen function is a nice touch too, although I can't comment on effectiveness as my daughter still has a bit of sunburn. However, the sun shirt is advertised as "extended sun protection". I have found that there are other sun protection t-shirts on the market that offer much higher UPF protection. Unfortunately, this shirt has several significant disadvantages. The main issue is that the colors have faded significantly after just one wash in cold water. This was a big disappointment as the shirt no longer looks as bright and fresh as when it was delivered. In addition, the fabric of the shirt creases easily, so it must be ironed or hung up immediately after drying. Finally, the price of the shirt is quite high compared to other similar options, which is a bit disappointing in terms of value for money. Overall, while this shirt is cute and functional, its faded colors and high price tag make it less appealing. I would recommend looking for other sun protection shirts on the market that offer higher UPF protection and more durable fabric quality.
