I was pleasantly surprised at how well they work. I used one of the most expensive swivel head blades. I have very light facial hair, but I also shave my head. This is my sixth shave with the first blade so I don't expect to spend more on blades. The only downside to them is that while they work well, even on my head, the hair tends to gather between the heads under the razor. and a pen. I have to admit I'm not entirely sure if it's the blade as I bought a very cheap $3 handle. Facial hair isn't a problem for me, but it is a problem for my head. I will continue to use them for both. I just have to wash the blade more often than before.
