This is an electronic work of art!

This thing is an electronic work of art! I bought i7, 256 SSD, 8GB RAM with QHD. Unboxing was sweet. Nice touch from Dell. Excellent work. The block is awesome. The carbon fiber feels great and looks premium. The speakers exceeded all my expectations but you won't play music from these tiny speakers. They are great for streaming videos from YouTube etc. This one replaces an almost 6 year old Mac Air. I've had 4 laptops in total including a ThinkPad and this is my favorite of them all. A few minutes after startup I went to the Dell website and updated the drivers and most importantly the bios. This is very easy. A few days after receiving the xps, I reinstalled Windows 10 Anniversary Edition and it worked fine. Loading less than 10 seconds, shutdown 2-3 seconds. Pretty cute! I don't understand some of the lukewarm reviews here on Amazon, but I would argue that the vast majority of those commenting on the Dell website are overwhelmingly positive. An absolute gem of a laptop. My colleague saw this and is now buying one. Fast, well built, easy on the eyes and a great screen. I knew this happened but QHD does drain the battery a bit and some websites suggest expecting 2 hours less with the configuration. I think the beauty of the display makes up for the extra battery requirement. September 13, 2016 - Update - Having been using the xps 13 for about a month now, I'm knocking out a star. The claimed 8-10 hours of battery life is far from that, at least not for me, I'm approaching 5 hours. This is with a clean install of Windows 10 and the latest updates/BIOS from Dell. The trackpad is not as good as the Apple trackpad. February 5, 2018 – Charger bit the bullet. I had to buy another. Luckily, the third-party option is only $25. Dell continues to provide support. I just updated the BIOS last December along with some other drivers. The battery life remains unchanged. Received about 5 hours.
