Review on πŸ”₯ HEATGENE Plug-in Curved Bath Towel Warmer - 8 Bar Towel Heater for Bathroom, Brushed Drying Rack by Jonathan King

Sturdy construction, clean finish, towels stay warm and dry

We installed this about six months ago during a bathroom renovation. We set a timer (Century FD60) to work from 8pm to 2am so towels are warm before the evening shower and have time to dry afterwards. The finish is a beautiful brushed stainless steel throughout and the welds and joints look clean and smooth. The switch is covered with a flexible rubber cover to protect against water and dust. We installed it so that the left brackets screwed into the studs and the right ones screwed with dowels. This gives a good secure hold. Mounting is done by attaching four small stainless steel flanges to the wall with one screw each and then sliding the rack's legs over them and securing them with a set screw to the tapered part of the flange. The easiest way is probably to insert the flanges into the legs and press the unit against the wall so the legs are centered on the stud or wherever you want the screw to go. Then, using a pencil, lightly draw a circle around each foot on the wall. This will tell you where to drill and install the mounting points to align perfectly with the rack. They state it's thermostatically regulated to 149F, which I haven't measured but seems correct. (I'm assuming it's outdoors.) It's uncomfortably hot to the touch, but doesn't seem hot enough to cause burns on brief contact, at least for an adult. The temperature of the metal under the towel appears to be slightly hotter than the parts exposed to the air, which makes sense and is something to be aware of. Obviously they're trying to strike a balance between making a hot towel and creating a burn hazard. In general we are satisfied with this product.
