I currently use Hi-Res Audio certified headphones for players and devices. I noticed the large sound stage. Mids, highs and bass are balanced. Bass can be heavy, but not overpowering and artificial like Apple's hip-hop beats. The piano is excellent and the reverberation in the FLAC file is clear and audible. Those who complain about low sound should understand that the size of the headphones matters. If someone can't get a good seal by choosing the wrong size, they will always find that all headphones sound tinny, regardless of brand. This little device sounds better than any big brand. There is no need to use a DAC/headphone amp. I recommend uncompressed files to appreciate the full functionality and players that can handle it. I do not regret my purchase and can only recommend this product!
