My project was under the counter lighting in the kitchen. The woman wanted full-featured LED lighting, including a choice of color temperatures. It would have cost over $600. After some searching and debating we decided that we could buy Litever 3000K and 5000K color temperature products to have color temperature options and the cost would be around a third of their original choice. First of all, I was impressed by the appearance of the product. The 12 inch lightbars are made from durable aluminum and the wiring is solid with molded connectors that seem to be the standard in the CCTV community. This means additional wiring options are usually available online, but you probably won't need them as extension cords are supplied with the kit. The product looks very professional. What I liked was that all the components could be connected securely, that they are working properly before installation In less than a minute I had the light panels connected and tested the dimmer function. Everything worked as expected. Two things to watch out for. One feature description said you could either plug the power adapter into an existing outlet or, if you wanted to plug it in directly, cut the plug off the power cord. This is not necessary as both types of power cords are supplied, one for plugging into a wall outlet and the other with bare wires for direct connection. Ears are included but no description of their function. After some thought, I realized the plugs were terminal. Because the light strips are connected end-to-end and all consist of the same connecting wire at both ends, the last light strip has an exposed power connector. The molded plug is designed to mate with the last molded connector, so the 12V supply is not affected by external events that could short out the power supply. After reviewing my layout plans, I began the installation. The light bars are held in place by plastic clips that screw into the bottom of the case. All other cable termination components use adhesive-backed grommets to attach the wires to the case surface. I decided to attach the PSUs to the bottom of the case as well, but wasn't confident that the adhesive components would hold, so I cut a half-inch strip from the sheet of aluminum I had and made some tape that wrapped around the PSU . , and then secured it with 3/8" screws (note that major hardware stores don't have screws shorter than 1/2" - I could only find sheet metal screws, but they work great). I also used some standard wire ties and some wire clamps that screwed into the wood where the wire bundles seemed heavier than I thought the glue would hold. None of this is needed during installation as the kit includes a large number of clamps. Litever did a great job of avoiding installation issues and providing the necessary components. Installation was difficult for me because my 60+ had limited my ability to lean enough to see the bottom of cabinets and my bifocals made me crane my neck to focus. More than once I've tried to find ways to route the kitchen cabinetry so that I can look directly at the countertop to take measurements for hole placement. Aside from my physical issues, the installation went pretty smoothly. I took another person's advice and bought a right angle drill bit so I can drill in those hard to reach places. As it turned out, I only needed it for one of the milled holes that I drilled. I was a bit disappointed that I had to drill 1/2" holes. This was due to the size of the connectors. In fact I had to make the holes slightly larger as I had to run two cables through the same hole to accommodate 3K and 5K to support lighting systems. When the installation was complete I was impressed with the result. We could choose to use only softer 3K light or only 5K daylight or set the intensity for the combination. I had a few minor issues that bothered me , and that's the best news. I contacted Litever customer service to let them know that I seem to be having minor interference with my AM radio. They immediately told me that this was not to be expected as the power supplies are FCC approved are. They even told me they wanted to buy an AM/FM radio to see if they could reproduce the problem. They couldn't but I was able to solve my problem by moving my radio another 6 feet away put away the light components. This type of interference seems to be common with dimmable LED bulbs. My position wasn't bad, but it was noticeable. Fortunately, moving the radio or reorienting its antenna can solve the problem. The best part about this story is that Litever's customer support has been exceptionally responsive. I understand that they want you to enjoy their product and they are willing to help you solve any problems you encounter. I have had further interactions with the company and they have always responded quickly and with a genuine interest in making you a happy Litever customer.
