Best for my dog โ€‹โ€‹right now

My husky is 13.5 years old and has had pain in the sole of his foot for a few weeks. We go for a walk every day and it is vital for his sanity and for battling osteochondrosis in his back for which there is no cure just to keep him moving. A bare wound prevented him from going for walks, which he loves very much as I didn't want to aggravate the wound and fill it with dirt from the ground. I tried the pointed collar and it weighed too much on him. Then I started looking for waterproof boots, thinking maybe he could put them on his sore foot. I've tried several. The first was too tall and not high enough to support his foot. I have this to try. I knew they were mainly used to prevent dogs from slipping around the house but thought they could also be used to protect his bad leg so he could walk. I made sure to measure his paw as it is hairy and looks bigger than it is. I followed the product advice and chose a smaller size based on his 2 inch foot width, hopefully for a comfortable fit. It was the way. He wasn't very keen on letting me put the boot on but I managed and luckily my best friend can help me out if he gets too fussy. He stayed throughout our walk! While the top of the fabric gets wet throughout, it keeps things from getting on the balls of his feet, which was my main concern. on the day it runs out and we wouldn't have to take it off and on a few times. However, he even kicked his leg out while he slept; When I took off my shoe, I found his foot was hot and wet and his wound was clammy. Let's say he has this wound so they could stay on a dog with clean dry paws for a long time but they get wet and don't seem to be very breathable. slip, it worked; Because of my boy's osteochondrosis, his hind legs are shaking, especially the one with a lame leg. We have hard floors everywhere and his back foot will tremble and slide back before he can fix it. His foot didn't slip in the shoe. However, I warn against wet or icy surfaces, as the shoe does not have a good grip on them. When it comes to laundry, I wash by hand in the tub. These boots are perfect for us. When my dog can do what he loves and is happy, I am happy.
