Review on Backpacking Kit Premium Lightweight Resealable by Victor Kakaruk

Overall I rate this camping kit 4 stars because there are some vegetables that take a very long time to become hydrated. Peas would be a good example. Green beans don't seem to get too soft either. But in general everything is delicious in the soup or whatever you cook. I definitely agree with another reviewer who said kale tastes great on its own. In fact, the cabbage is so good I plan to purchase a gallon-sized container from the Harmony House website. I bought a sample set to be able to order larger quantities later. Right now my favorites are cabbage, mixed peppers, carrots, celery, onions, beans, and tomatoes, and next time I'll order everything in large containers. The easiest way to use these samples is to add them to your chicken or beef broth, or even use bouillon cubes, and that's all you really need. It just tastes great. And I make my own salad dressing, so I take an onion and pepper mixture and moisten it in oil, vinegar, water and spices and it makes a really delicious salad dressing. I put some of these veggie packets in my carry-on. I ended up in a hotel with a small kitchen and making dehydrated vegetable soup was a breeze. I'm going on another trip and already have some of these items in my hand luggage. Whether you're a tourist or not, these veggies/beans go great with rice. If you carry some rice in your backpack and a couple of these bags, you can add rice and red beans to a pot of water and spices and simmer for a great lunch.
