I've had cats for years but I've never used an insert. I used to scoop 2-3 times a day, changing the bedding often, then throwing it all out and cleaning the drawers by hand every couple of weeks. what was i thinking It's 100% better. I still scoop several times a day, but keeping the drawers clean and changing the filling is very easy now. Each liner will last 1-2 weeks depending on how rough the cats have been. If a small hole forms, I just pick up the bag and toss it in the bin, throw out the trash and wipe it down with an antibacterial cleaning cloth. It only takes a few minutes. No big deal and no scrubbing. I really have to fix them every day because my boy is stupid and keeps trying to fit the edges of the plastic wrap into the box. Although my cats are still using the box with no problems, I can tell the liners kicked them out because of a small loop. It took them a good week to get used to the change. Luckily, they've always been champions when it comes to box changes and always go where they're needed. If you have a fussy cat that doesn't like boxes, I would suggest adding an extra box with an insert to your house and see how she goes about leaving the old ones. Some cats need a slow introduction. I use them in large tall sided Van Ness trays and they fit great. I will never go back to washing my hands again.
