Last year we had a surprise dog in our garden, we tried to find a home for him, he is not microchipped, no one responded to the flyers we put up after trying to find a shelter , where he might be accepted, and were placed on indefinite waiting lists, we had just accepted them. The problem was that she wasn't broken or understood any commands, and lately she was tearing up furniture and scratching/chewing almost anything she could get her hands on. We just recently got a collar to teach her to reinforce bad behavior - when she gets too rough while playing and bites, when she jumps on the front door and scratches it, when we see her scratching or chewing something she should do, it does not follow. After testing the on-hit values, we feel that she responds quite well at lower settings, which makes us happy, so I feel like we've finally taught her not to be so destructive. With everyone's schedule, we can only actively use it with her for a few hours a day and work on the behaviors we want to change. The choke collar we got for her leash training worked wonders because she was pulling so hard to try and get loose. Walks and this bark collar is a convenience we can use at home to get her attention when she's done something wrong. Would recommend to anyone with a new puppy or dog who needs to learn some boundaries.
