I use these for a quick stay in the cold. I would say no longer than 20 minutes. They are very comfortable and warm enough for this time at least. Not to mention that they won't be warm afterwards. I have a regular pair of gloves that I use for longer exposures. The thumbs have magnets that keep the tips in place when not in use. I thought it was a cool feature. For me they lose a bit because the tips of the mittens go into a pocket on the top of the glove and it tends to slip out a bit due to the stretch. I've had other pairs that use velcro for attachment. I think it's much better. Or why not use a different magnet system, like in thumbs?
