This is great padding for your lower back. With two herniated discs (L1 and L2) I was looking for a lumbar pad to relieve my back pain and make it more comfortable to sit in a chair and on a plane for long hours. This pillow is well made, breathes well and folds flat for easy portability and storage. I carry it in my book bag. But most importantly, the pillow's lumbar pad is perfectly positioned and feels comfortably firm yet soft when stuffed like a mouse pad. It doesn't have a strap to keep it in place, which is a slight downside when using it on an office chair. However, I put it on my chair and it has relieved my back pain and met my expectations. I'm not exactly sure what the little loops on each side are for - probably to connect to your own strap. If so, they must have been made from Cordura. An additional strap that can be adjusted with velcro would have been a nice touch and is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I forgot mine on the plane and will definitely be buying a new one soon.
