Spoiler alert! Skip to the end - I've upgraded my rating from two to four stars. I really wanted to like this razor. The description promised some real innovations - blade fixation with neodymium magnet, adjustable blade aggressiveness and a very attractive price. However, my sample confirms the point made in other reviews. The design is really great, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The razor I received just can't be aligned properly. I've followed other reviewers' advice and tried moving the blade in its guide, adjusting the pressure, etc. The photos show the *best* alignment possible with this razor. Please note that the gap is much larger on one side than the other. Maybe a good marketing department would call it a "multi-aggressive" design :-) I just call it inconsistent. Also notice that the blade is set off significantly from the base of the blade holder and even worse on one side. This angle is the perfect recipe for cuts and scratches. The main reason seems to be that the base of the head is a separate piece from the fluted piece to align the blade. The manufacturing tolerance between them is too large, so there is a high probability of misaligning the blade. There was also a sort of "burr" on the surface of the razor handle, very small but right where your finger feels a sharp protrusion on the matte surface. grip bar. It might file or scrape clean, but anyone in the factory just had to run a finger along the handle and they would feel it. Two stars instead of one because - I admire innovative design and believe that original work should be respected. The packaging is really pretty, a high gloss white slide out box with silver embossing 'Bring out the fantastic art of shaving'. A leather holster makes this a good travel companion. A replacement must be sent as it unfortunately does not fit. Hopefully the next one will have better alignment and finish. I really want to like this shaver. Update: The replacement razor is aligned correctly! I returned a faulty shaver and requested an identical replacement through the Revain returns system. The replacement came in one day, and by God everything is well matched. The distances between the blades are the same, the magnetic locking system works, the razor shaves gently and almost without vibration. I tested with the Astra Platinum blade and was happy with the result. It's not a Merkur Futur, but it gives about 80% performance for 20% cost. Four stars out of five just because of the discrepancy.
