I bought this after receiving a professional hot salt stone massage. It's basically the same type of stone and it works just as well. I wasn't initially thrilled with the shape (the ones I've used professionally have been shaped like a pigeon pole) but I understand that it really works to your advantage and allows you to control it while using it. The only thing I would like to say about it is that right out of the box it was a bit rough. So if you decide to buy one, I highly recommend using either a nail file or some very light sandpaper to smooth it down a bit before use. .
