I bought this camera not expecting much from its quality. General Electric isn't a brand that many people brag about. I was impressed with the performance and opted for it. I'm not a huge techie or photographer, so I won't bore you with a bunch of tech crap. I bought this camera because I went to Nicaragua for vacation. When the camera arrived I was impressed by how durable and high quality this camera was. I was expecting a cheap, plastic and brittle product. This camera has a very solid construction. I was able to take some GREAT pictures with this camera. When I came back and posted my photos on Facebook, everyone asked what camera I used. The color of the photos was just amazing, the sunsets on the beach were stunning, I took some close-up shots of butterflies and the photos came out with amazing detail. The battery life also lasts a very long time. I took over 500 photos, played with the zoom constantly, and in the 2 weeks I was there it only drained 50% of the battery. As mentioned, the quality of the pictures is amazing, but this camera is not suitable for moving subjects. It takes a full second to take a picture. You cannot aim and shoot while driving. You can't catch a flying bird. If they make a version of this camera that can take photos a little faster, at least 3-5 photos per second, it's going to be one of the best cameras for the price. Vacation. When I returned a few weeks later in December, I received a NIKON Coolpix p510 for Christmas. I was shocked when I opened the camera and saw the cheap, flexible plastic construction I thought GE would have. When I was on vacation, I dropped the camera several times and it didn't work. I'm afraid it'll all be over if I ever drop my Nikon. General Electric is doing amazing things with these cameras. As soon as a new version of Power Pro comes out, I'll buy it. I'm not saying my Nikon doesn't work, I'm just saying GE beats @$$ with these products and I'm a big fan of image quality, efficiency and solid solid construction. I highly recommend this product from the perspective of the average person.
