Love it! We were looking for a dresser/storage cabinet to match our current office furniture and couldn't find anything under $600 that matched the quality. as calm as it is. At first I looked for countertop options but couldn't find anything suitable. Then I thought of buying a piece of maple, cut to size and stained/finished to the same luster. The cost of buying lumber was still a bit high, and while there were some good options at the local lumber store, I wasn't sure it would go well together without a lot of extra work. I decided to see if I could simplify the finishing process by using a laminate sheet instead. I figured this would allow me to buy a much cheaper piece of wood. The end result was even better than I expected. The film is easy to apply. I used a wallpaper brush to smooth out the bubbles and heated with a hair dryer to wrap around the edges and corners. Two tips: 1) I noticed that none of the other reviewers offered advice on how to deal with corners. If you search "contact paper corners" on YouTube, you will find some short videos on how to best apply. I followed the directions of those who suggested using heat to soften the film. 2) You must apply on a very smooth surface as the film is very thin and has even the smallest bumps. I bought a piece of MDF that was 3/4" thick and had a smooth side (the side I put the tape on) and a rough side. I also applied sticky wood edging to give a smooth finish on the sides to create BEFORE I glued the laminate. All in all it cost me about $80 and I was able to finish it in less than an hour. I'm just disappointed that I didn't find this product sooner. I can think of a lot of things imagine where this might help.
