This is a cube, ie 6 sides. On one side are the power inlet and the ventilation openings. OK. On the other hand 2 USB ports, hmmm, ok. The remaining 4 sides must be made of light-emitting plastic. You are not. Only one side of the cube is made of light-emitting plastic, so the cube works like a flashlight and not a lightbulb. It won't light up the room. The cube I received is bright because of its limited cone of influence. Some of the bad reviews must have been written by people who don't understand the difference between 850nm and 940nm. Of course, some bad reviews would be broken cubes. 15 seconds after switching on, the cube got hot. Not the best stealth feature. Requiring a cable or external battery isn't a good stealth feature either. Yes the battery option would make the cube more expensive but there is plenty of room inside the cube for the battery. If there was a cube with light emitting plastic on 3 sides I would buy more of these but what do I call it. failed experiment.
