The results don't look like the packaging

This is a decent set that makes a good impression. Unlike the photos of the packaging, I certainly don't see fine details like the creases on my fingers. You have to press really hard to get an indentation. However, if you press too hard, the clay material will be pushed out over the edge. I used this today for my 11 month old birthday on the day of his one month old birthday. The set sat on the shelf for 7 months until I finally had to use it before it got too big. I opened the package and found that the foil clay bags were covered in an oily substance. My guess is that the clay components separated after a few months of inactivity. It was rough but I kneaded the clay and it seemed good. I was very sad that his leg is too big now but the arm just fits. I hope they last a long time as the clay was a bit old. I don't really know what would be the best age for this set, but my guess would be under 9 months. Getting a good handprint is extremely difficult as I have been doing other projects with my son. Newborns hold their hands in fists for weeks, and as baby grows older, he will resist you trying to place your palm on the surface. The legs are much easier. But with this tone you have to press hard. When you receive this set I plan to use it for a few months to keep the tone fresh. I would also advise against trying to make the same perfect impression as the packaging photos. I'm just glad my son joined in, even though he stuck three fingers in the clay.
