My cat (8 pounds pictured) loves this tree. I love it because it doesn't have that "traditional" unattractive scratching post look. I put catnip on it every day and my cat goes nuts and then sleeps on it for hours. If you have a problem with cats scratching your furniture, please don't remove the claws! Put posts like this all over your catnip house (along with regular nail trimming) and it shouldn't be a big deal. If they start scratching the furniture, just point it out to them - they'll do the job, no amputation.
