After 2 parenting experiences I realized that I needed to buy a protective film for the playpen. The downside is that this film pulls the mat's support boards inward, leaving a gap at the edges of the playpen. Perhaps the arena has more flaws than the blade, it's soft and durable. I love the ease of putting it in the washer and dryer.
