Review on Morakniv Kansbol: Premium Sandvik Stainless Steel Fixed Blade Knife for Ultimate Performance by Mark Deuschle

My new companion is Cansball

I am an avid hunter and tourist. A friend lent me his Companion after a hunt, and while I didn't want to try this "big" knife, I was impressed. He finished the turkey quickly and piqued my interest in these knives. After dealing with deer and needing two knives, a small one for skinning and a large one for quartering, I looked for something better suited to both tasks in the field and bought a Morakniv. I chose Kansbol, but a companion would have been almost as good. After looking at the scabbard options, I probably wouldn't go for the Molle attachment system. I could use it, but I think I could use a cheap companion clip-on case just by attaching a paracord loop to it. However, I liked the idea of having a ferro rod scraper on the back and a larger cansball belly for skinning. This knife is ugly and nothing to brag about. But it's a workhorse that I can have on hand whenever I need it. And for that he will be my companion for the next year of travel.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
