So I don't usually use it. I actually use it upside down and back to front, under my hair with my nose up and the soft part that goes over my eyes towards the back of my head. It helps with my migraines. I can wrap the bandage around my head and it stays in place and I don't have to hold it and I can lay back on the couch and just relax. I keep it in the freezer until I need it and it seems to take about 30 minutes which is perfect for my meds to work.
