However, these products have been and will remain the platinum standard for cleaning/enhancing/lubricating and protecting electrical connections of all kinds for decades. Often these products work almost magically in their ability to rejuvenate switches, relays, potentiometers (volume controls), etc. Despite a confusing product range, their most versatile product is what Craig or Hosa (Craig's distributor) call the D5 series. If you see D5 in the product number, you have probably received the most suitable product! In fact, the D5 series cleaner is essential for any joint that is NOT new or already perfectly clean. The most versatile product is the DeOxit D5 series spray. It cleans contacts, washes away dirt, lubricates and leaves a protective layer, which improves the electrical connection and protects for years. The only issue I had with the brush version is that you rarely get to the pins of what you're working on. The spray version eliminates this problem. Highly recommended!
