Review on Lenovo ThinkVision P27U-20 4K WLED Monitor with Anti-Glare, Cable Lock Slot, Smart Sensor, VESA DisplayHDR 400 by Brent Xole

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great, but terrible in my opinion

What is otherwise a decent product on paper is hampered by disruptive factors. Solid panel, not the best but definitely better than what I expected from Lenovo. By testing it, I give them the benefit of the doubt that it will last. However, there is no Mac software control on the device touting support for a Mac-specific protocol. The lack of software controls wouldn't be too much of an issue if it weren't for the terrible touch buttons and on-screen menus. Expect a monitor at 1/4 the price. The controls in the menu are not intuitive and the arrows under the buttons are difficult to see. This thing has a lot of coil whine, lucky for you if it's out of your hearing range, otherwise it's tolerable if you're wearing headphones and sitting in the front, terrible from the sides or back. Unless you really need port selection and aren't a huge Lenovo fan, I'd look elsewhere for a monitor.

Pros
  • The widescreen resolution of 16:9 is ideal for watching movies, playing video games and working in the office.
Cons
  • Limited motion processing
